Bragis, Xenophon

X. Bragris (with two “r”s) appears in the 1915 Vancouver directory as having a confectionery business at 1890 Georgia Street. He was living at 1888 Georgia Street that year.

(Arthur F. Collyer appeared at 1888 Georgia Street in the 1915 directory. Hanlan Garfield Wickwire was also at 1890 Georgia Street that year.)

By 1920, “L. Bragis” (with one “r”) was operating the Robson Confectionery; he was living at 904 Robson Street.

In early 1924, Xenophon and Ora Bragis  attempted to enter the United States at Bellingham, Washington. Xenophon said that he was 40, and that he had been born in Greece. Ora was 25, and was also born in Greece. The United States authorities would not let them enter the country.

In 1925 and 1926, Xenophon Bragis was operating a confectionery at 652 Kingsway.
