I added a new page on Henry Bartlett Kitley, who was a salesman, mainly with the Hudson’s Bay Company and David Spencer’s department store. He lived at 1076 Denman Street from 1914 to 1918 and at 1096 Denman Street from 1919 to 1922.

  1. Thank you for the very interesting biographical details about my late Grand uncle, Henry Bartlett Kitley. I am the grandson of Canon Herbert Kitley, Henry’s younger brother.

I discovered this afternoon that Henry had produced a lot of calligraphic works, most of which are now at Stanford University Library, Ca. USA. I had no idea that these works existed.

I have a complete copy of The Canticle of the Sun illustrated by Henry. It was sent to my Grandfather in Australia. Grandfather passed on the Canticle to my late mother in the early 1940s.

Are there direct descendants of Henry B Kitley living in Vancouver?

I am a retired University Professor and former diplomat. I live with my wife Yvonne on 15 acres in Megan, NSW 2453 Australia, a small rural property near Dorrigo.

    Regards, Philip Thomas Kitley
